Lesson 1: TOYOTA recall / VIDEO Script

Al:
What’s new John?

John:
The wife and I dropped by the GM dealer yesterday. Quite interesting. GM is offering attractive discounts in the wake of the Toyota recall.

Al:
Really? Do they use the name Toyota in their promotional literature or POP displays?

John:
No, of course not, but you can feel that they are very enthusiastic about the situation at Toyota.

Al:
Sure. By the way, what exactly are the papers saying is the problem with the Toyota cars being recalled?

John:
Well according to CNN’s report, the problem seems to stem from faulty accelerator pedal linkages that can wear over time. They also had many problems with accelerator pedals getting stuck under floor mats. They are recalling over 4 million cars to rectify the faults.

Al:
Wow! I hope Toyota can carry out the recall quickly and regain the confidence of customers because I really like Toyota and want to see them succeed again. I’ve owned 3 Toyotas and never had a single problem.
