スミス英会話の皆様、そして2009年4月5日の大阪城公園でのお花見イベントにご参加くださった生徒様、本当にありがとうございます。2008年の大阪城公園でのお花見イベントと同様、すばらしいお天気にめぐまれました。

美しい桜の花の下でランチを楽しみ、その後賞品を狙った宝探しゲームなどいくつかのゲームを楽しみました。がんばって賞品を獲得した生徒様、おめでとうございます。またお友達や家族の方を誘って参加してくださった生徒様もおられ、お花見イベントがさらに特別なものとなりました。

お花見イベントは大成功となり、次回2010年大阪城公園でのお花見イベントが今から楽しみです。

最後にこのイベントを一緒に計画してくださったスミス英会話スクールのフランチャイズの皆さん、ありがとうございます。そしてスミス英会話大津校のエドワード先生、大阪城公園でのお花見イベントの楽しいビデオを作っていただき、本当にありがとうございました。

   From all of us at Smiths School of English I would like to say “Thank you” to all of the students who joined us again on April 5th, 2009 at our Smiths School of English 2009 Osaka Castle Park cherry blossom viewing party. We had wonderful weather again just like we had for our Smiths School of English 2008 Osaka Castle Park cherry blossom viewing party.
We enjoyed lunch together under the beautiful cherry blossom trees, and later we enjoyed some games including a treasure hunt with prizes. Congratulations to the students who did their best to win the prizes. Several students invited their friends and families and this also made the event special.
The event was a big success and we are looking forward to our Smiths School of English 2010 Osaka Castle Park cherry blossom viewing party!

花見に誘っていただき、有難うございました。　去年も参加して楽しかったのでまた、今年もあったら　参加しようと決めていました。

私の期待通り、おしゃべり、お弁当、満開の桜、歌やゲームなど楽しみました。
最後に宝探しゲームをしましたが　それはもちろん　楽しいものでした。
夢中でリストの物を探し回り、　ラッキーなことに２位に入りました。
YOJIMBOの　コミックブックを賞品としていただきました。

当日は多くの人たちとおしゃべりしましたが　岡本校のアル先生とお話したこと特に印象に残っています。
スミスの先生方は皆とても　親しみやすく、気さくでした。　アルが何故　大会社をやめ日本にもどり、　スミススクールを始めたか　話してくださり、それは興味深いものでした。

満開の桜の下　すばらしい日曜日となり、よい思い出ができました。　朝早くから　スミスのスタッフの方々、場所取り有難うございました。心から　お礼、申し上げます。

   Thank you for inviting us to hanami party. Last spring I also participated in this hanami party and I had spent a very pleasant time, so I had determined to go if this event was held again.

Just as I expected, I enjoyed chatting eating viewing cherry flowers, singing and games. One game was like this: someone sings a song, and we must guess the title of the song. After that we had the treasure hunting game. Of course it was fun, but we went overboard searching for articles. Our team won the second prize and luckily got the USAGI YOJIMBO comic book prizes.

I talked with many people; especially I conversed with Al and his wife, who are the owners of Smith’s Okamoto School. I was favorably impressed that Smith’s teachers in every school are very familiar and approachable.

I listened to Al’s story: why he quit the big company, came to Japan two years ago, and started working with Smith’s English school. It was interesting talk.

Nice weather, yummy lunch box, fun chatting full bloom cherry flowers, Last Sunday was a fantastic day.
I have good memories. Thank you for getting the good place for hanami from early morning.

I appreciate all Smith's staff from the bottom of my heart.

ありがとう、お陰様で、お花見楽しめました。どうだった？ですって？もちろん、楽しさ一杯でした。だってお天気は言うこと無しだし、桜は見事に満開、みなさんとても素敵な方々でしたもの！何が一番面白かった？借り物競争ですね。見知らぬ他のグループも巻き込んで必死に借り集めましたよ。誰とお喋りしたのが一番楽しかった？うーん・・・、誰か一人だけを選ぶなんて出来ないので、秘密！本当にありがとうございました。

Thank you for holding the hanami party. How was it? It goes without saying that I had a very joyful time because the weather was perfect, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and all participants were so nice. What did I like best? One of the reasons why I wanted to join the party is that I hoped my children could have an interesting English conversation.
In my home, we watch English TV programs as much as possible.

大阪城公園でのお花見は初めてでした。天気がよく,とってものんびりとした時間を過ごすことができました。少し残念だったのが,桜が八分咲きだったこと。あと少し待ったら満開だったかな…？？？？他校の生徒さんとも仲良くなれました。来年も是非参加させて下さ〜い☆♪

It was my first time to join a Cherry Blossom Party at Osaka Jo Park. The weather was fine and we were able to spend a very relaxed time together. The only drawback was that the Cherry blossoms were only 80% in bloom. Oh, if we could have waited a little longer.....???? I was able to get to know other schools students too. Please be sure to invite me back next year!

上新庄校のキャロル先生と裕一さん、各スミス英会話学校の先生へ。
この度は、素晴らしいお花見会を企画して頂ありがとうございます。参加でき本当に嬉しく思います。多くの先生や生徒の方々と英語と日本語で楽しくお話することができ、素晴らしい日でした。私は中国人なので、英語で話そうが日本語話そうが自分にとってはどちらとも勉強になります。もちろん、その日は十分に英語を話すことが出来ました。
私は、今回の企画は本当に良い事だと思います。なぜなら、お花見だけではなく、英語の練習もできるからです。又、たくさん友達を作ることもできます。
どれだけこのお花見会が楽しかった事か、言葉で表現するのは難しいですが、私の気持ちが分かって頂ければと思います。次回のイベントに参加できることを楽しみにしています。

Thank you very much for organizing this party.I enjoyed it very much.I am very happy to have this chance to have a cherry blossom viewing at Osaka Castle.It was a good day. And I was in a good mood because I had a chance to speak with teachers and other students in English and Japanese. I am from China, so whether I talk with you in English or in Japanese, for me, it is studying. Yes, on that day, I spoke a lot of English. It was really good because the purpose is not only to have a cherry blossom viewing picnic, but also to practice our English speaking. And we can also make a lot of friends. 今回のお花見会で楽しかった事に就いて喜んでご返事させていただきます。
初めに、私はこれまでほとんどお花見に行く機会がありませんでした、この度、私は大好きな桜を眺め、木の下で食事ができ、本当に楽しかったです。
次に、私は、生徒の方々とリラックスして過ごすことができました。なぜなら、私達は、ただ単にお互い生徒と言う立場だけで、仕事とは関係の無い方々だったからです。仕事場以外でお互いを知ることは楽しいと思います。又、普段仕事上での付き合いが多いため、このような違った場で、普段と違った新しい自分を発見でき良かったです。
最後に、普通英会話に興味があっても話すことを恐れる方が多いですが、（日本では、大勢の方がそうかと思います。）お花見に来られたほとんどの方が英語会話に興味があるかたばかりでしたので、会話を楽しむことが出来て良かったです。

   Regarding your question, “What did you like about Ohanami?” I am pleased to reply to you.

First of all, I hadn’t had a chance to go to Ohanami for a long time.
I like flowers and eating lunch under the cherry blossoms.

Secondly, it was very relaxing to spend time with other students because we did not have to relate through business. We were just students. It was fun to know each other without thinking about business (At least for me). It is not very often that I can socialize outside of business, so it was a good chance to discover a new side of myself.

Finally, everybody at Hanami had an interest in speaking English.
Usually, there are some people who are afraid of English (Actually in Japan we have a lot of people!) So it was nice to speak with others who are interested in English.

新聞によると昨日の大阪城公園は１５，０００人の人出だったらしいのですが、本当にどの桜の木の下も人でいっぱいでした。　そんな人出も何のその、スミス英会話の先生方は去年に引き続き、朝早くから私たち生徒のために、川沿いの桜が一番きれいに見える場所に１００人分ほどの場所を確保してくださっていました。　お陰で、“アラ還( around KANREKI )”の私としましては、この先あと何回見られるかわからない桜を、しかもあんなに綺麗な桜を、今年も心行くまで楽しむことができました。＜笑＞
生駒校のレス先生のメチャクチャ可愛い４歳の坊やが、他のお子さんと「○○してへん」なんて大阪弁を使いながら、「Yes, I do.」などとパパと何の不自由もなく英語で話しているのを見てとても微笑ましく、そしてまたとても羨ましくなりました。＜笑＞
今年はお花見の参加校も増え、各校和気藹々と桜を楽しみ、ますますスミス英会話のチームワークの良さを感じました。

   According to the news paper, Osaka Castle Park attracted 1.5 million people yesterday. There were lots of people under every cherry tree. Even though there was such a huge crowd, Smith’s teachers secured a great spot with a view of the beautiful cherry blossoms along the river. They got together again at the park early in the morning like last year’s hanami event for us, specifically their students. Thanks to them, I was able to enjoy myself to the full this year too! I am in my late 50s and I wonder how many times I can enjoy cherry blossoms from now on. HAHAHA
Les-sensei from Smith’s School of English Ikoma School brought his child, a 4-year-old boy, with him. The boy was really cute and said something Japanese in Osaka dialect to his friends. He also said something in English fluently to his father. I enjoyed this pleasant scene and envied the little boy!
I felt that Smith’s School of English had had a great team work through the event! It was nice to be there!

Dear Derek,
I joined Smith’s O-hanami event which was held in Osaka Castle Park.
Even though the previous day had been rainy, the weather was good, not too hot and not too cold. Derek met us and brought us to the best spot which Smith’s teachers had gotten for their students and their family members. Our school held an O-hanami event at the same place last year too. I joined both. This year I noticed the spot very easily because two big Smith’s flags could be seen from a long distance away.
The number of schools, students and their family members all increased compared to last year so the event was full of energy. We really enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossoms on the riverside as much as we liked. We spoke with teachers and students too. On the same day Ikoma School’s Les posted something about this event with pictures a short time later, and I enjoyed the beautiful cherry blossoms again while seeing it. Thanks to Smith’s teachers I could have a marvelous day.

   Derek先生 今年もスミス英会話の大阪城でのお花見イベントに参加することができました。前日は雨だったにもかかわらず当日は暑くもなく寒くもなくお花見にはちょうど良い天候でした。わざわざデレック先生が今年もまた１２時に私達を駅まで迎えに来て下さいました。先生方は生徒達やその家族のために、朝早くから並んで一番良い場所を確保してくださっていました。大阪城でのお花見は昨年に続き２度目ですが、今年は大きなスミス英会話の旗が目印になり遠くからでもその場所はすぐに見つけることができました。参加校、人数とも昨年より増えて、私達は川沿いの美しい桜を心ゆくまで楽しむことができ、先生方や生徒さんと英語でおしゃべりも楽しみました。生駒校のレス先生が早速このことをソープボックスに写真付きで投稿され、それを読みながら楽しかったことを思い出しました。
先生方、このイベントを企画していただいて本当にありがとうございました。
