私はよく考えるのですが、今までの長い歴史の中で、私達の生活を良くする事が出来ると信じていた人々がいたからこそ、今のような文化的な生活が出来るようになったのではないでしょうか。しかし、まだ世界中にはこのような生活レベルが夢としか思えない人々が大勢います。その数はおよそ20億人です。彼等に今、一番必要なものは電気ではないでしょうか。電気があれば色々な事が出来ます。勉強はもちろん会社の設立だって出来ます。沢山の人に仕事を与えることも出来ます。
この電気に関する興味深いビデオを見つけましたので、英語のリスニング練習にも役立つと思いこのブログに載せることにしました。ブルーム・エネルギーという会社は近い将来、１軒の家に電気を供給する弁当箱くらいの大きさの燃料電池（fuel cell）を開発しています。現在はGoogle社、Walmart社、Bank of Americaなどの本社ビルで大型燃料電池を実験的に使用しています。
その利点は今の高圧線配電網(Electric Grid)と巨大なCO2を排出する石炭を動力とする発電所の負担を大幅に減らすことが出来ます。高圧線配電網を持たない国にも電気を供給することが出来ます。
